The right strap can turn any dreary camera into a stylish accessory. And if the thought of adding extra bulk to your backpack with a bulky, OEM strap is something you’d rather avoid, you have some options.
With so many strap makers on the scene these days, choosing which one to go for can be overwhelming. We decided to break down a few things that set some apart from others and help you decide which one is best for you:
Price – No surprises here – price plays a big role in just about every purchase decision we make. The good news is that most straps will only set you back anywhere between $20 and $50 (some are even less than $20). However, there are higher-priced options if you’re looking for something extra high end.
Material – There’s leather, woven fabric, cotton and more to choose from when it comes to the strap material . Depending on your taste and preference, one of these materials may be better suited for you than others. For example, cotton tends to feel friendlier on the skin but doesn’t resist moisture too well, so this type of strap may not be the best for shooting in a humid environment. On the other hand, leather is great at resisting moisture but may feel less friendly against your skin after hours of wearing it.
